Encroachment III: Wealth Among the Rivers

By Chris Dotson on August 16, 2014 3:07 pm

One more week of being crazy busy and traveling too much. My apologies.

This piece is built entirely with bits of the piano recording that ended up in last week's track. For this week, I sent a few sections through granular processing on the iPad and another couple sections were used to create the more rhythmic loops using Samplr. There was no external processing used besides the iPad; all layers were put together using Ableton.

Very new age. tongue
I like it though, and I'd like to know more about this iPad setup and how you get it from iPad to Ableton! When you have time, of course.

nice.

You should just extrapolate every track from the previous track from now on. You're in a good sonic space r/n it seems. Warm fuzzies!

Thanks! I just connect the iPad to my mac laptop via a stereo audio cable. It isn't perfect and can sometimes introduce a tiny bit of noise to the signal, but I normally prefer it that way. Occasionally I record from one app into the Audio Share app using Audiobus. From there you can upload to your Dropbox account which produces a cleaner signal, although it take more steps.

Thanks!! I might need to take a break from these sounds for a bit now that I'm back to being able to spend a little more time each week. I definitely like where these recordings ended up. :-)

beautiful sounds
