After I created this beat I realised that it reminded me of that Portishead song. I think it sounds quite the same, although this one is made with Akai Rhythm Wolf and Volca Sample and my Modular Synth.

I see what you mean about Portishead in the rhythm, but the melodic part is putting me totally in the late-70s, early 80s; Kraftwerk, Laurie Spiegel, Kluster. So two thumbs up from me.
