Culture Cruisers - Viking Silk Route

By Celio_Morya on May 3, 2026 11:15 pm

This week I barely made it across the finish line, but I still wanted to bring something with a strong vision behind it.

The idea was to imagine a Viking spirit crossing the ancient Silk Road, carrying that raw northern strength through distant lands, temples, deserts, mountains, and forgotten kingdoms. Along the way, it absorbs the traditional sonorities of those cultures — ancient strings and oboe´s, ritual rhythms, mystical Northen voices, and earthy melodies — and transforms them into something celestial and futuristic.

I wanted the track to feel like an old legend seen through the stars: traditional, powerful, and spiritual, but also glowing with sci-fi atmospheres, deep chillstep energy, and a sense of cosmic travel.

It is not as polished as I would have liked and the structure could be better, but it carries the emotion of the journey. A meeting point between ancient warriors, Silk Road dreams, and future skies.

This is very, very cool. The sorta ancient cultural musical fusion reminds me of the sound of a lot of the Cryochamber ambient-horror compilations based on the cosmic/lovecraft mythos elder gods - the Hastur compilation in particular. This is fantastic and haunting and creepy in the best ways lol

I never done nothing like this vibe before… mix of industrial rock voice and mixing with ethnic instrumental To creat this idea … I started all without the voices I was building everything around the bass dubstep inspired … that voices( Viking style ) was the last add to the project and I really was thinking if it was a proper fit Tó the music … then my wife came in to the studio and said “ this is interesting mix , you have nothing like this … I tink you should keep it “ and wife’s they ALLWAYS right 🫡…

I didn’t had much time to improve the the story … after I upload it i listen and find a few parts that I would improve  , but for 4h of work only on Sunday just in the dead line I think is reasonable 😅😅

Thank you for your time on listening !

Such a head nodding groove that gets you swaying with the chants.  Excellent chillstep vibes! \m/

Super cool and creative.  Favorited!

Part OG dubstep and part viking metal. The horns remind me of Photek Age of Empires which sampled from Egyptian Empire's Horn Track. The secret sleeper here is the female vocal. Nice mashup of many interesting things.

Thanks for the feedback !!! this was a bit out of my comfort zone cause of the viking voices !!!

There's something to rushing a WB near the deadline... For such a short amount of time you had to work on it, you've created a very interesting collection of instruments that work very well together. Congrats!

thank you xavier !!! sadly ill be away from WB for a full month !!! still ill try to do something !!!

Super interesting combinations of both styles and of instruments. You really have a good sense of how to incorporate different sounds and make them blend into a coherent soundscape. I really like the flow and groove of the track as well.
