Chance Study

The first barrage of bullets sprayed every square inch of exposed ground around her. She was only hiding behind a metal slide and yet, somehow, nothing had hit her. With the back of her hand, she touched the slide. Despite being visibly mangled on top and steaming, the slide felt intact and incredibly cold from behind. She wouldn't have time to apply any of the clairvoyance poultice, but this felt like a conjecture she could rely on: The guns were an illusion, and without the beast knowing she was checking small details, it wouldn't be able to perpetuate the illusion in full.

As the guns reloaded, Mallory sprinted to the next place she could get cover. Operating under the assumption that Cipher is adhering to some form of reality for its illusion, it may also be able to cause some sort of damage or at least inflict pain if she were to actually find herself hit by the fake bullets.

The monster dashed toward her as she ran, no doubt going for a physical attack that would have real world ramifications. Deflecting the attack with the barrel of her long pistol, she found herself in direct contact with the now oversized monster. She fired one shot, point blank, and the illusory world began to flicker and drain.

I actually didn't intend to continue this story today, but I sorta ended up starting something that felt appropriate!
I spent the first half of the week working on a project for a video that ended up not even working out after all of my hard work (^^;;; *pretends to not be disappointed*
Hope the text is at least satisfactory. I didn't give myself any time to proof-read. The battle can play out however you like tongue

This one was all software and drum samples, except for the noise. Used the native "monosynth" or whatever Logic calls it, Ultrabeat, and Automat. The noise was done with modular crap  (Dinkey's Taiko, µVCF, Telharmonic, Wogglebug, and ModDemix)

There is exhilaration and strength in this track big_smile

The story continues into the first climax. I hope it is anyway.
