My first general midi

By CatchinAshes on January 18, 2026 8:20 am

What a week it’s been. My Roland SC‑88 Pro finally arrived, and I’ve been brimming with excitement for ages about getting my hands on a proper General MIDI module. I had to wait a few extra days for the MIDI‑to‑USB cable to show up.

Once everything was plugged in, I lost track of time. A couple of late nights disappeared into flipping through the manual and of course, listening to my favourite classic game soundtracks play back in all their original glory.

I didn’t want to overcomplicate my first week, so I’ve kept it simple, just explored and did some experimenting

looking forward to using this more throughout the year.

Hahaha yesssssss GM forever

Classic sounds smile love it, great track?

This is super fun! It sounds like you're just having fun on a sonic playground from my own childhood.
