Interesting Times

By c-cube on November 17, 2024 6:30 pm

Back this week, after a skipped week for cause of acute doomerism. We sure live in interesting times; at least I'm quite satisfied with the vibe conveyed in this track. All done on M8, mostly done over one evening.

yo the doomerism is really real; you're not alone

that early clap really threw me, that's nice

this is kind of evil and dark, but the melody is the silver lining in the cloud.

...hopefully

(and the airhorn panic ending with a new chord?)

There's a good description, thanks. There's still hope for good things indeed. The airhorn is just there to allude to the clown show aspect of things... 😅

I'm enjoying the main melody and the lead here. Ooohhh those bells at 1:20 are VERY nice! Super cool sound design choices all around, well done! And like orange said, the airhorn samples are very well used, hahahaha... Great job! And congrats for making music instead of indulging even more in doomerism. We got this 🫂

I’m just here for the air horn.

There's no denying it's very ominous.

The vocal-ish lead is great - but holy crap I love that air horn. And with as ominous as this piece is…I particularly like that you resolved the whole thing to a major chord. Like that glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel smile

Very dommerist / "interesting times" track indeed, captured the feeling really well!

Sorry to hear that the doom hit you like that. sad This is a great way to channel some of that energy and the results are really nice to listen to! Really nice mix of instruments.
