D Maj Moodle

I'm still getting used to a new way of creating and capturing my improv piano sessions. Before I would just play until I liked what I was hearing and then hit record and upload whatever I got in one or two takes.  Now, I'm using Ableton and finding I can have much more control by creating my improvs in sections and putting everything together after I've finish recording. I also have access to a ton more pianos than the patches on my Kawai ES8.  Anyway, this week I found a piano patch I liked called Link's Ballard and fiddled around until I came up with this little moodle in D Maj.  Thanks for listening. - RCN

Very nice. I like this piece. The piano sounds great. DAW's like Ableton really open doors with multitracking and midi. I hope you keep exploring that. It can be a powerful tool but sometimes a bit daunting.

I really like the piano sound, warm and lively, well done!

Lovely composition.  Really nice use of a texture change at 1:12 to keep things feeling fresh.

This is a great mood - flows so well. Really interesting how you built this one!

Thanks for the feedback.  Agree about the "daunting" comment, especially for a newbie like me. But I already see how its a game changer for my creative process.

Thanks for the feedback.  It's one of the Arturia piano patches that I thought fit well for this piece.

Thank you.  Trying to keep things fresh is often the biggest challenge we face. That's why I really like this community because of the huge diversity of styles and genres here.

Thanks. Building a song in Ableton is completely different from my one or two-take improv sessions I started out doing. It's a process that I'm finding gives me so much more control with a lot less stress!

Love the playful bounce between the chords.  Glad to hear you're enjoying Ableton, it def opens up the creative possibilities smile
