Walking alone at night

By BTS on October 2, 2016 9:14 pm

I decided to start October off with a more atmospheric, darker ambient piece.

I created two elements by using two sample pads stretched in Paulstretch.

I then took the files into Reason. The first stretch file was duped three times. Two tracks panned in stereo, sent to a Mix Bus, Both with a LeSpace as Insert FX.

The third was used to create a rhythmic element, with a Pulverizer into an Alligator, then a Synchronous and finally an Audiomatic as Insert FX.

The second stretch file duped in stereo and sent to Mix Bus. The Echo, a Polar, an Audiomtic and a RV7000 mk2 as Insert FX in both channels.

After mixing and EQing the track, I used a RV7000 mk2 Combinator as a Mixer Insert FX. The Master FX consisted of a MClass Combinator.

Very enjoyable sustained cloud of static and tones--nicely done!

I should try your super Paulstrech ambient technique, Sir!

It's fun, I encourage all to throw different files at it and listen to the results!  Word of warning, a shorter file is easier to manage than a longer one.  I've seen people throw full songs into Paulstretch and they end up going on for hours!
