The Aberrants

I continued my dive into my old sample CDs from the now ended Computer Music magazine and found that in my earliest CD (CM 75) there was a set of processed and unprocessed found sounds. I always enjoyed these type of samples and thought it would be a good time to see how I can set up these samples to loop properly (or at least as close as I could) in Renoise.

After finding the main element, I found some complimentary pieces to bring in and create a set of textural contrasts.

I also used the send tracks in Renoise to create additional soujnd texture via reverb stacks.

After mixing and light mastering with Lair and Tectonic, I exported the track and created the final sound in Audacity.

I like the industrial sound and it has the proper dark element for the Halloween season.

Indeed, this works nicely for the Halloween week. "Soundbed" is the perfect description.

Nitpick: some of the sounds drop a bit suddenly, a bit of enveloping would help with clicks, etc.

I'll look into the envelopes for smoother looping!

Also, thanks for the listen and the feedback! I appreciate it!
