Emergency Broadcast System

I combined two approaches I've been working on with this year's Weekly Beats, using Paulstretch and digging deeper into Reason. I started out by stretching out a small sample to a drone to use in the track.

On the main work file, I took the ReDrum outputs & sent them to individual mixer channels. On the Kick channel, I used a Drum Combinator as a channel insert effect. For the Snare channel, I used a RV7000 mk2 as a channel insert effect. For the Closed Hat channel, another Drum Combinator as an insert effect. The Open Hat channel used a Decimort2 insert effect.

The Bassline was created with an Europa. The Lead line was a Malstrom, The Echo was an insert effect. The chordal line was a Thor, LeSpace was the insert effect.

I created three separate mix busses to create the desired sound. A Drone Bus had a Polar, a MarsPeaks and a Rotor (with CV Control coming from a Pulsar) as effects. A Kick tracks only Bus with a Decimort2. And a Non-Kicks Drum Bus, with a Decimort2 and a RV7000 mk2.

I equalized all tracks, then bounced all of the busses and lines to finalize the mix.

On the mix file, I used the following effects:
* Kick tracks, a Pulveriser
* Drum track, a RV7000 mk2
* Drone track, a Reverb Combinator
* Bass track, another Pulveriser

I leveled and added track automations, before finalizing the mix.

The Main Mixer insert effects were a Multi-FX Combinator, a Synchronous and two Audiomatics. The Master effects comprised a C-1 Sigma, an EVE-MP5, a MClass Stereo Imager and an Ozone.

I really like the menacing drone.  Works well with the repetitive techno type beats and give the song a dark vibe.
