brainfreeze (KORG Gadget)

Happy WB2016! i thought i'd try my hand at iPad's KORG Gadget App. Just messing around with some live patterns and getting a sense of its overall capabilities while learning the ins and outs of the various machines. tried to create a decent range of synth sounds, like some spacey pads, as well as trying to see how well Gadget handles the creation of various chip sounds (one of the machines is specifically for chip sounds but was curious about how authentic a SID lead i could cook up).
Overall thoughts on KORG Gadget? Really powerful as an on-the-go app, particularly for rhythms. Using a touchscreen (without any stylus) to compose music is still a hard sell for me though. you can sort of tell from the melodic bits i wrote near the end - i tried to do some lead melody work but the process overall is more obtuse than i hoped. There are definitely some areas for improvement but in terms of a pianoroll-style DAW that has a workable way of automating parameters by hand, i'm glad this app exists at all.
