LongShotz (dodgy mix)

Here's my first beat, so keep that in mind when you critique it. That being said, I welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism: meaning you start with the Good, then the Bad, and end with "how to to improve..." (resources, tips/tricks, explanations, videos, forums, how-to's etc.) and a simple "keep it up". In turn I will comment on your own submission following the same CONSTRUCTIVE format.
I'm not sure what to call this week's submission other than "TrapCentrik". It's 85 BPM, very rough, not very well timed, and mix down was rushed. 50 mo' beats to go...

I like this--excellent first beat.  It's great to hang everything off the hook you state with the first beat. I *might* suggest trying a few additional melodic elements in there, but that's entirely optional, and only if you think the piece needs more of something.  Nice work.

I concur with onezero -- I thought this was really solid, ESPECIALLY for your first beat.  if you hadn't said it was "not very well timed" I would have just thought that was intentional (and liked it)

I like your kick a lot.  It's like pure bass (or something I don't even know lol)

The SPC is just a sketch pad, no sequencer so my timing is off with breaks and drops and such. Caustic is approaching a proppa DAW but I only have so much time and I'd prefer to spend it getting up to speed with Abelton. I do like my kicks PWR, and all of your comments are duely noted. Look for rapid improvement in the weeks to come.
