Damn did not feel the 6/8 coming from the jump - awesome evolution
Thanks!
Agreed. It gives the song an unpredictable element and a tasty half time feel. Goes well with the smooth melody line.
Cheated by looking at the comments before listening, hence didn't get tripped up (already had 1 2 3 1 2 3, must be the arp pattern giving the hint), but enjoyed it anyway!
A slight LFO on detune always gets my vote.

I wasn't actually going for a fake out! I though it was obviously in at leats 3/4
Loving the drums here! The little casual snare rolls are so sweet.
Thanks! I enjoyed writing those!
Loving the 6/8 man, need more non 4/4 stuff on weekly beats! (guilty candidate)

Thanks! I command you to write a 6/8 or 3/4 track next week ![]()
Yeah this one's a bop. I too was tricked by the unexpected 6/8, such a nice surprise.
Lovely work on the spacious leads too!

Ad that's a really nice comment
At which point were you surprised by the 6/8? What did you think it was before that?

Turns out it's really hard to unhear the actual groove once you know what it is heh. I think I imagined it much faster paced. Like taking that opening arp in groupings of 4 notes and placing kick on the one and snare on 3. Or.. maybe I was just enjoying space and not thinking too hard about rhythm.
Either way, the actual groove revealed itself once the drums kicked in, which is a very nice moment.
