getting to know you

By BMTS on January 5, 2014 10:37 pm

I have been doing pretty simplistic compositions using open source as seq24, and a buzz clone, and have been trying to force myself to start making stuff with Renoise this year. This was an awesome opportunity to force myself to start learning Renoise.

This was done in the few time I had available, and 'finished' close to the scheduled time.

The structure is all off, so bear with me. smile

The bass and synthy sound are created from simple wave cycles in Renoise, the voice and some of the airy samples were recorded some time ago, some are from a bicycle trip I did this past summer. I recorded some night ambiance, and also the camping stove I tried to use it for a swoshy sound.

Any comments welcome! wink

I think it is maybe missing some compression/limiting somewhere, so the sound level is not as loud as other songs I've already listened. Next will be better, I hope! :-D

due to coincidence, this came on right as the sun is poking through my office at work -- it worked really well to complement the paradoxical sunny but freezing situation.

Does it matter if it's a bit softer?

It doesn't, to me. But if you're listening to the stream it may matter to someone. smile Enough loudness war, right?

Good luck with your compositions for this week! wink
