Mist Bubbles

Right now the weather affects my mood in a very dramatic way. The light quality is horrible around here when it's foggy and overcast, a real sense of gloom hanging over me. The days are getting longer though, hope is just around the corner.

I ran out of time to develop this idea, I'm trying to work more on the sound design of my synth tones and experimenting with effects but it's very time consuming to manage all the layers, at least for me.

this gif shows the awesomeness of feeling in this track:

Amazing soundscape! Brings hope indeed! And thank you Raja for these amazing gifs XD

It's interesting what you say about the layers and effects. I like finding ways to perform a song without having to go back and tweak a lot of stuff (the whole "producing" step is really killing me, even tho it seems quite helpful to turn a good song into a great one many times). How do you go about this track? Did you hear the end result in your head and tried to get there or did you explore the sounds until they led you to the end result?

Very lovely, I like the mix of electronic and organic sounds/textures

Love the sound design!! Nice work man!!!

I think it's probably because I'm a very bad performer and actually I learned to write and sequence music before I learned to play or even had a keyboard or any 'real' instrument, so I tend to just play a tiny bit, have a little idea and then expand on it with layers of effects and automation to extend a bit into a longer piece. I started this track from the flute-type synth which is a pigments sampled patch I put together, then had the idea of pairing that with a steady synth pulse which is basically just a single note throughout and all the movement is lfos and automation

Thanks for sharing. I think your method leads to more polished music, whereas performing usually tends to make things more janky, at least in my case cause I can't help myself add little ornaments all over the place big_smile

The nice thing about this track is that there's still a human element maybe stemming from the flute sample or whatever you played on top, so it keeps it alive but still all the transitions and notes are hit at the right times. I always have trouble making a purely composed tune sound more human, which is why I default to performance.

I have been blown away by this outstanding track. thanks.

The atmosphere really bleeds through it, brighter days ahead, but reserved hope due to current conditions.

Digging the atmosphere. Really love the glottal synth swell.

keep up the good work!  your work always hits me emotionally, so I am very grateful

Once the flute enters, the world seems like a better place.

Like sun through a cloudy sky

BTW I'll be visiting Milano for work tomorrow (April the 5th)... Hope it's not all cloudy and rainy!!!
