I finally played Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, the soundtrack and the sound design by SCNTFC are amazing, so of course I had some of those analog synth / John Carpenter style sounds in my head all week and decided to try and remake them inside Kilohearts Phaseplant. May not be the perfect synth for those sounds but it's so flexible that you can find workarounds when the basic sound doesn't hit quite in the same way, lots of modulation and effects in this case.

the Oxenfree games have a very similar vibe to Stranger Things, actually the first Oxenfree predates Stranger Things by six months, they were probably working on those projects for years in parallel drawing on very similar sources of inspiration, I always find these things super interesting

That's a beautiful piece of music, can feel the vibe you were pulling from. Synth was a bit bright for Carpenter but played so well against the noise you sounded inspired by his  work and not derivative of it.  Wonderful song

Wow I adore this. It makes me want to make music because this is so much how I want my stuff to sound. Really great work smile

Music to ghost to. Thanks for sharing. It sounds super cool.

That's a wonderful sound design! everything is in good harmony

great!!! Very affecting lo-fi epicness in the sound picture. The crunchy delay in the end is the icing on the cake. More please!

Getting super nostalgic feelings from this one, cool stuff

Endothermic drifting vibes.

Really love the brass sounds and arrangement. Provides a really great base for all the lush sounds on top.

Love the track - you captured great atmosphere

The track is very cinematic when I close my eyes. I get shivers from those frosty sounds. Well done.

Oh boy, you really hit a sweet spot here. I love how I never got locked into a rhythm, just stayed afloat the whole time... The textures are rich and dense, but never feel cluttered or overpowering. And that main brass sound? CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS

The sound on this is massive, so enjoyable, beautiful synth work, this one will be on repeat.

I love this, very epic and takes me away to either a planetarium or inside of Tron. Both great places to be, haha.

Listening to this again while cleaning the kitchen, my daughter just suggested “we need to hear this on the big speakers”.  Smart kid

oh god i love the sounds in #1 i'll have to get pt 2

have you played Metrico?  great music by Palmbomen

for some reason i want all of your tracks to be between 7 and 14 minutes.  you are so good.

thank you very much! you got exactly my main hangout when trying to make these types of tracks, it's really difficult to nail the type of warm analog tones, I either get them too muted or too bright

ahah tbanks, I love automating those kinds of dub style effect throws, I think I am going overboard with it but it sounds so cool!
