I love the weekly deadline, and I think it helped me a lot, but sometimes it's really not enough time for those situations in which you realize halfway through the piece is not working.  I believe you can basically salvage any idea and make it a good piece of music, but you have to be much more talented than I am, and also it's probably a lot easier to just start from scratch with something else.
This week I wished I had time to start from scratch with something else. Well there's always next week
