Theme piece for this week. Had alot of fun with it.

My original plan was to drive up to the local mountains and fuck-about for half a day recording the forest and what not, but i quickly figured out that i did not have the time to do that. so i went with samples instead and then laid a track over it with my Launchpad. Still, very fun to do.

huge thank you to Viridian for giving me unrestricted and unsupervised access to his splice account. luvubby

This is epic.

Great use of samples, it's totally convincing as a field recording. The drone under everything was perfect - heightened the drama but didn't fight for attention. Everything melded perfectly with each other. Cinematic.

Great work on the mixing of this track, the foley samples are really well done.  I had to listen to this 3 times as I kept getting swept away in the track rather than critically listening.  Really immersive and quite relaxing to listen to.  Very nice work

Damn dude, you made excellent use of those samples. Even with high quality samples I feel like it's pretty easy to make them sound unconvincing or immersion breaking if mixed improperly, so I'm continuously impressed by how well you mix this stuff to sound like like it was done by some kind of professional studio. Seriously, I don't know  how you're doing it but I could totally see you in a career for sound design.

it has a great ascending quality to it -- the pad ascends, as well

Really immersive atmosphere (as usual).  Also just really impressive storytelling.  Particularly give it being a collection of samples.  It's so rare to find cohesive musical stories told through atmospheric sound design and foley.  This piece is a real journey... very nicely done.

Wow this was luscious!
