stroopwafels

Focused a bit more on the arrangement for this one. Pretty pleased with how it turned out. The drums are loops I found in Converse's Sample Library (https://www.conversesamplelibrary.com/pack/andreas-klein-jazz-drums). All the sounds except the bass (which is just an ableton sound) are from my JU-06. Going to try to branch out a little bit on the sounds next week since my first 3 have all used similar instrumentation. Enjoy!

this is rather pleasant, thought the keys were quite a bit louder than the drums but other than that i dug it quite a bit

Thanks! Know of any good resources or tricks for getting the mix right? I'm always just going by ear and I'm not sure that's the most efficient or reliable way to approach that.

Digging the unexpectedly jazzy drums here.  For mixing advice...since you're in Ableton, I'd suggest putting Spectrum on your master channel, and checking the frequency bands of each instrument to make sure they aren't stepping on each other--if you have two voices with very similar frequencies in the same channels, it's going to be hard to hear them distinctly.  And sometimes an instrument will have harmonics or subharmonics that interfere with other things--those interfering frequencies can be cut with an EQ. Spectrum will help you see those.

I like the transition to the stereo oscillation. Only enjoyable by headphones but still cool

Really like the melody that comes in half way, nice drum samples

Thanks for the tip, I've been trying to avoid spending money lately, but maybe it's time to upgrade past intro :-P

Thanks, I really like that effect. Feels really spacey. I feel like it ended up oscillating a little faster than I'd like.

Thanks! Just sorta jammed out for a few loops and cut together the parts I liked best. Fat fingered it a few times, though :-P
