Steamed Hams but it's DnB

By BarristerPlong on Yesterday 12:31 am

This is both my first DnB track and the first time using vocal samples on the M8.
Maximum effort shit posting.

I'm not super familiar with DnB but genre knowledge has never stopped me before. I'm really in love with this track, it's completely unhinged.

Happy week 28 pals!

Sometimes I think unfamiliarity with a genre actually leads to more interesting results.  Fun trippy manipulations of the Simpsons samples.  The beat gives this a relentless driving feel and some of the synths create a quite unsettling feeling.  Super cool and pretty intense!

I don't know enough about dnb but it certainly wasnt what I was expecting but it's great regardless of what genre it is. maybe I have ufos on my brain after just listening to djippy's track but im seeing a chaotic battle between flying saucers over earth's storage of steamed ham.

The vibe is good. Not sure if it's strictly DNB, as people can be oddly specific and anal about genres. But whatever the exact genre is, I like this tune.

If you'll permit me some feedback, I am missing the kick. There is a fairly big bass sound. But I think it could use some real 'knock ' from a kick.

There is quite a bit of distortion on the The Simpsons voice samples. But not so much that it feels intentional. So that's a bit weird for me. Overall I feel the samples are a bit too loud. The Drum aNd Bass parts are the most important parts of the track. The voices are ornamentation. So I think that balance could be improved. And maybe there is a tad too much delay on the voice samples, for my liking anyway.

Don't get me wrong, these are just minor niggles. Nothing major. I think the core of the track is good. Anyway, all of this is just my opinion. Just thought I'd offer it to you, but feel free to ignore it.

Neat stuff!

Really fun track! Was looking forward to what was next the entire track.
It's an interesting take on DnB, it's definitely scratching an itch, I'd say it's DnB genre-adjacent at least.
Maybe a bit more of a heavy kick (on beats 1 and 3 and a half) and a persistent bass would make it more DnB-y, but your track in itself is alright.
It's yours, that's what matters.
Excellent job!

When the bongos came in I knew I was in for a wild ride! Love the simpsons mangling and spinny lead at 1:34. Well done! \m/
