So this was my first time recording vocals. I don't have a voice that is suited to lead, in the bands I play in I sing backing vocals only. So I decided to play around with layering and reverb. I quite like the effect of the layered harmonies, even though I have some trouble with pitch sometimes.

Actually, there's a lot of imperfections in this (not just in the vocals) but I'm quite happy with the overall vibe. Also, harmonies = life.

This track was super fun to make, and sucked up a LOT of my time. I feel like I'm just now emerging from a cave and I don't know what sounds good anymore.

Tools included my trusty Roland Gaia, SM58 mic, Ableton Live.

Walking in the wind
Gravel path before me
Push away the thin branches above me
Greenery crowds against me

It's always good to push your comfort zones.  I think the vocals work really nicely in this.  They have an ethereal feel to them and complement the instrumentation well.

Totally agree about the vocals. Great cave!

This is beautiful.

Wow, your WB is getting better and better. These harmonies reminded me of Warpaint and the song itself is arranged so well. Great to be back here smile

Aw, thank you! What a lovely thing to say. smile

Quite beautiful ambiences here. Reminded me of School of the Seven Bells when it comes to etereal vocal melodies.

Not any noticeable imperfection in this one smile

Thank you! I heart School of Seven Bells, especially "Alpinisms"
