The Statues Garden By The Swamp

I have been enjoying The Haunting of Bly Manor this week (another recommendation from me) and thought about making some melancholic yet electronic music inspired by it.
I started with an arpeggio and then added some chords and a pad, and finally an ominous bass metronome with a strong plated reverb (courtesy of the new mixer). I sprinkled with some subtle effects and played with the levels and the filters while recording.
It was a fun and nice workflow. I really like the fact that I can jam with my gear and then record that jam whenever I feel like it. If only I had more time in the week to then mix and produce those jams a bit further, that would be perfectly splendid wink

Good sound, the synths here are very classic feeling. Progression made me think of Hyperlight Drifter!

Love the build-up, love where it's progressing and I love where it ends.
Sort of feels like a Donkey Kong Country song in a sense.

Full but minimalistic. Great dark chords. The rising arp in the mix builds a lot of drama. Well done! Got to check out this Haunting of Bly Manor. Great synyh sounds all around and the plate reverb is like an additional instrument.

I should definitely try that game! The visual esthetic feels right to me so probably I'll like the music too.

I'm glad you appreciated it, thank you for letting me know. I'm a bit worried that it's too long or too boring and I need to force myself to trust the build-up and also the listener so it's cool to know that someone liked it.

Thanks for your feedback! I hope I did justice to the ambiance of the show.

Were you thinking of a specific song in particular? Like maybe something like Aquatic Ambiance?
I must admit I was a bit confused by the comparison but I find also quite interesting! neutral

Also a bit of stickerbrush symphony, so it's a lot of things.

I finally got to listen to stickerbrush symphony and, indeed, I see what you mean. Thanks for the tip, I didn't know DKC had such a deep soundtrack!

I forgot to add that I'm quite flattered by what I consider a compliment. Thanks a lot!
