The Passage

I'm back on my past setup with just the Deluge and only the Deluge and I must admit it was easier to come up with cohesive ideas this time. I tried again to go on the epic heavy space theme but this time using some single-cycle waves as basis for the synths.

I recorded 2 edits: the first one was a direct record as an improvisation and the second was more planned and corrected. In the end, I chose the improved one because it feels more authentic and has more energy too it.

The mix sounded quite muddy after recording (it's not easy to control the whole mix on the Deluge and this time I have too focused on the bass and not enough in the trebles) so I tried to correct that with some equalisation (I've been watching some videos about mixing and mastering practices) but I'm not sure if I didn't lose any oompf by rebalancing the frequencies. Anyway...

Thanks for any feedback and have a nice week!

Another nice track. I like the flow of this one a lot. That said, I'd love to hear a few versions with a slightly different sound as the lead that comes in at 3:27. I almost feel like something a little grittier or dirtier would be a little more at home. Just food for thought, anyway. smile

I really feel like your comfort level with the Deluge is showing up in your tracks.  love it!
