Methodical Spontaneity

By Ashtom on January 5, 2026 12:01 am

It all started with a Juno-106 Bass sample from Legowelt, with the intention of creating a latched note soundscape, at 72 BPM, an evolving mesh of crafted bleeps.

But then it all went out the window and became this sort of 144 BPM techno beat where I tried to produce a decent rumble by layering a fully wet reverb kick sidechained to itself, and a chord progression with a subtle voicing change.

I only had 3 hours to play music this weekend so I guess this will have to do. Overall, I kind of like the energy of the track so I hope that some here will like it too!

Have a great week everyone, see you in the comments.

Hey Ashtom, first i thought of some dark ambient stuff and had a sand wurm ( dune) in mind. I like how you develop the groove and beat without drums ( in the beginning) then turning it into a great dance track!

Hey thanks for your comments, I had to remove the original entry and reupload the file because I messed up with the export the first time and forgot to check the result before anything.

That's some build...

I missed this in week 2. Nice pumping main room stuff.
