Polymorpheus

By Ashen Simian on January 30, 2022 6:21 pm

A 70´s jam with some 80´s beats. Crisscrossing sequencer lines driven by Quasimidi Polymorph sequencer. Some leads improvised using a Crumar DS-2 for the monophonic leads, Elka Rhapsody and Polymoog for strings and brass respectively....

I have been very busy with work and other things, so lately I have directed all my musical resources just to complete something for each week and have not had time to check what the others have been up to... but I will do that too soonish...

This is great! Epic!

The poly moog strings and brass are glorious but it is the drum patterns and percussion that are my favorite elements. What are you using? Sweet lead line mono synth improvisations too!

I like how this one builds into something huge.

Thanks! It actually grew more than I originally intended. Lots of stuff there, indeed. Could benefit from some weeding.

Thanks! That leadline (Crumar DS-2) works in my opinion too... I got a nice distance to its sound. Actually there´s two lines, but they mostly work well together. The percussion is actually a combination of several things... There´s Alesis HR, Korg EM-1 and Roland TR09 in use. I often do ryhytmns like that. I prefer the machines where you can easily mute/unmute/level sounds individually while the pattern is running. So I generally use a just a sound or two per machine. This was actually quite haphazardly ´put together, but it is an easy method of putting lively rhythms together fast.

WOW. This is a great jam with supercool instruments. Absolute grand.
