Paragnosis

A dark, rather fast (for me) techno track. I wanted to make something less ambient this time. This has some Underworld vibe for me in the rhythm department. The gear is the usual stuff... the sequencers are controlled by Quasimidi Polymorph, driving varios analog sound sources. Beats are Roland R8 and TR09 and some Akai Rhythm Wolf. The polyphonic textures and pads are from Roland D50, Korg Polysix and Ensoniq TS-10.

The rhythms feel like we're at a dance club, but the tones on top of it give off a much darker and more ominous vibe.  It's a cool combination.

OVerall I really enjoyed this track, I really dig this kind of music where there's a solid beat and bass line grounding everything throughout the track as a means for experimenting with texture and ambience over the top. If I may offer one bit of criticism, in the chance that you end up re-releasing this song again at some point outside of weekly beats, there's one particular element I found to be a bit distracting. at about 1:41 there's this melodic/rhythmic motif that you've been playing for a while that suddenly rises in volume and brings a lot of attention to itself. Due to its timing and the fact that its a back and forth between two notes that almost sound like a polyrhythm against the beat (I don't think it actually is though, could be wrong) I found my ear was continuously drawn to those notes rather than listening to some of the ambient textures in the background. I think mixing that part a little lower might be helpful, but other than that this is my kind of jam, hope I didn't come off as nitpicky.

Quite the opposite! Thanks, I love this kind of precise input... this was bashed together rather fast, so I well may take this one up for remixing soonish smile

Very different sound.  I like the frenetic pace and beat. Great drum and squelchy bass patterns.
