I decided to make some tracks with just one synth this year like I did in 2018. Here´s what I did with an Ensoniq Fizmo. No actual programming included, just jammed with its own arpegiator two times (synced the second take with the first via midi) and added further two takes of improvisations on top, so it is 4 x Fizmo here. It has strange, somewhat metallic sound quality to it, a bit like PPG synths in the 80´s. A bit hard one to tame, but has a quirky quality of its own...

You must have an amazing collection of synths.  I'm not familiar with the Fizmo, but there are some really great sounds to digest in this.  I would like to hear some more of this synth in future tracks for sure.

Beautiful synth work, and gorgeous harmonies!

Great lush synth work... I especially enjoy how pieces of this seem to emerge into a cohesive whole.  Very cool

Fantastic track! I don't know if it's the right term but I am in love with this ambient-prog combo. The layering is perfect, sound-wise and composition-wise. That glass tone/sonar at the end is incredible, it sounds like it is from another planet! heart Definitely favorited!

Thanks a lot! I will be using it for sure in the near future... not so easy to make its sound fit a soundworld made with other synths but will keep on trying smile  Yes, I have a quite a bit of gear, a simple result of buying about two per year for a long time and hardly letting any of them the go!

Thanks guys! I sometimes work like this; I create a simple jam backing to one stereo track and then overdub to it similarly a few times. Resulting in a few stereo tracks and then the final shape becomes evident only in the mix later on. I sometimes cut and paste quite severely, but that is the extent I use a computer in the process.

Thanks! Great that you liked it. Fizmo can be made to sound more middle-of-the-road with effort, but it is not what it is about. I usually go to where ever it points me smile

excellent soundscape!
