Wall of Darkness, No True Sight

Tuesday, March 15. 9:10 - 9:21 PM. Not really into it tonight but I started a song out of obligation! Played a few bars, copied over some presets from my other songs.
Wed, March 16, 10:10 - 10:30 PM. Some more mindless noodling. Not really in the mood for music this week but yet doing it even when you’re not inspired is a good test of your “instinct” so to speak.
Thu. March 17, 8:00 - 9:00 PM; 11:00 - 11:40 PM. Revising the song after OHC to redo the intro and lay down a different chord progression.
Fri, March 18, 9:00 - 10:10 PM.
Sat. Mar 19, 10:10 - 10:36 AM. Guitar noodling. The song has some sonic character but not really a good structure at this point. It’s a lot of fun to explore new sounds and new ways of playing on the guitar.
Sun, March 20. 8:30 - 8:45 AM. Still not sure where this song is going to go. The production is off (the track is overall too peaky, but yet not loud enough… needs more compression!) I need something to do as far as completing it also. It’s more of an ambient track than one driven by a steady melody so I guess I should consider finishing it that way.
11:00 - 12:00 PM. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Not really sure about this one. I think I didn’t do a good job of mixing as you go, so everything’s levels are off. The structure/melodic elements are slightly off as well and I’m not really feeling it enough to go back and introduce them earlier into the song.
Overall, there are some interesting ideas in here, the song “feels” different than the stuff I normally do, but there’s something missing that makes me want to really focus down on this and finish it.
Total time: 5h 50m. Wow, that’s more than I usually spend on tracks and this one didn’t turn out that well.
