The Hollow Hills
=====

Follow the path from the valley into the light.

=====

This is less a coherent song and more of a noodling jam. I made a few sounds, tweaked some presets, and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make cool sounds out of the Mono Evolver. I also experimented with finger drumming and MASCHINE 2 in Logic Studio.

Overall this song has a pretty relaxing groove/lounge feeling with some spacey-feelings to it.

=====

Friday, Aug 26, 21:30 - 22:25. Starting a song. Experimenting again with more hardware synthesizers.

Sat, Aug 27, 10:45 - 11:05. Laying down some more drums. I’m practicing finger drumming.

I did random noodling on this song throughout Saturday for a minute here, a minute there. I didn’t really keep track that well.

Sun, Aug 28, 9:30 - 12:35. Features of this track:

1. Finger drumming, pseudo-live (I did lots of takes, and some quantizing, but otherwise recorded them live at some point
2. Synthesizer noodling, pseudo-live (see above).
3. Haphazard structure.
4. I made a Mono Evolver sound for this that uses the sequencer. Amazing!

13:30 - 14:00. Re-recorded the lead part. Just as I was finishing the track, I was writing how the lead didn’t really fit with the track but that I wasn’t going to fix it. Well, screw that noise, I should stop being lazy about these things and at least try to do better.

Total time: 2h 35m.

Next week is going to be a short week as well, since I’ll be away for much of next week.
