Chill out and calm down

===

This week I spent most of the time doing another music project so I didn’t manage to get the time to think of something awesome and interesting. Here’s a casual rock song for everyone with stupid synthesizer noodling for no reason other than to say that I did some synthesizer noodling.

Thursday, March 31, 8:00 - 9:00 PM. I started late this week because of another compo that I was given the opportunity to work on, so I did that one first. Since I don’t have a lot of time I think I’m just going to try to rely on old habits and not try to push the boundary too much. Much of this time here was wasted trying to get used to my external hardware again and playing around on drum pads, I don’t even think I managed to get 16 bars out of this hour and it was really just a lot of playing around.

Friday, 9:45 - 11:00 PM. I’m learning to set up my hardware better in my DAW. I’ve always had it hooked up but apparently there’s more effective ways than what I’ve been doing so now I’m experimenting more with what I can do with my synthesizer. Similar to the last hour, I was more noodling around than actually laying down a song.

Sat. Apr 2, 9:15 - 10:30 PM. Still laying down a basic song structure and getting some melodies in. It’s kind of a simple song with a verse and some guitar noodling and synthesizer noodling.

Sun. 9:15 - 10:00 AM; 11:00 - 11:45. What do you get when you take a song and just noodle around and not really concentrate? You get this. Hey, no one said I had to create amazing work every week…

Total time this week: 5 hours, but honestly about two of those hours were wasted tweaking knobs, playing random guitar parts, drumming, and otherwise just fiddling around rather than actually making a song.

It's the guitar sounds that are the most engaging. I like the lead line. Also the way you doubled it on synth. Very chill.

So super soothing.

Wundervoll!

Thanks for the comments, appreciate it. Always good to learn what's working and what's not!
