Weekly Beats 2018 #18

And here we are, at week 18! Second quarter's going by fast, if you ask me!

Wanted to play around with tempo changes (T command in LSDJ) this week, which you'll mainly hear in the first part of the track. I would have loved to expand on the second part, but hey, time limits! Nonetheless, I'm happy with how this turned out, groove got stuck in my own head rather fast ^_^

I absolutely love those chord progressions, and oh my goodness the tempo automation really creates emotion. Great tune Antler! heart

you keep challenging yourself and killing it! rock on!

Nice! Good to know, I'll have to do that (tempo) more often. ^_^ Chord prog hops between major and minor tonalities.

Thanks man! Keep on rocking on yourself too \m/

Nice use of that tempo, it certainly makes a nice transition. I know from experience it can also make a nice ending when I made Ascend into Madness.

Yes, your tempo tweaks really made the piece. Excellent work overall!

This will also be stuck in my head for a while hahahahha! I really like this particular bass instrument you use, it always feel very alive. The crashing/wave drums are superb, lots of motion in them!

Every time I listen to your new track I'm super tempted to have another go at LSDJ, but I'm waiting on Benn Venn to resupply his carts to actually practice and learn on hardware. Hopefully this happens before the end of the year (most likely)!

Means a lot you say that, Gab! My music inspiring others is something I couldn't have imagined a year ago. smile
I think what makes the bass so lively is all the bends. I love me some good glides in a bass line. Keeps it from going stale.

Composition on point as usual. Really cool switchup in the chorus of this one, really makes you sit up and pay attention heart

Thanks, Hieme heart Was afraid it was too much of a change at first, actually!

the tempo changes are so good.  inspiring!  I need to try this!

Def agree the tempo draws your attention quick and again has an awesome video game theme quality to it.  It reminded me of Mega Man 2 or any of those intros where they pan out on the logo after a lengthy cutscene smile  Well done!
