Weekly Beats 2018 #17

By antler on April 29, 2018 4:01 pm

This was mainly a week of rest for me, and so I procrastinated with doing my weekly beat until Sunday. Glad to be back in business!

Nothing much else to say this week, hope you like it :3

Thank you heart ^_^

Nice and tight.

Not to shabby for a days work! Your percussion is tight as ever, notches in really nicely with those arps. That said I like that last little bit where the percs drop out and we get to hear the arp on its own, would be cool if there was a longer mellow middle section / bridge like that. Would give the piece a bit more dynamism I think. Though the way it is currently, driving along at a rapid pace works too, almost like a VGM racing theme or relentless dancefloor banger. Sick track!

There's a nice travelling feel in the compo, I'd see also as VGM theme but for a frantic cart sequence set in crystal caves (that's the imagery it conjured up for me). Well done, especially on such short notice big_smile

Hmm yes, agree with you there. I just wanted to upload it and finish my day, haha. Funny how two people think of racing games.

It's interesting to hear what my music makes other people think about. I then relisten with that contextualization, hearing all kinds of different things myself. I could definitely see this used in some frantic race game B)

Great panning, lovely interplay between all those melodies, very nice variation. I like the more mysterious atmosphere of this one heart

Thanks! Now that you mention it I guess this one's a bit more mysterious indeed! *rubs chin*

Def feeling those racing game vibes from that rolling bass.  Love the arps as always and super catchy melodies.  Yais!
