Namba Nightlife

By antler on October 21, 2018 1:30 pm

Hey all! Week 42 started out with me playing around on my piano, though all of that material never ended up in the track. I really liked the driving drums + bass that came out of it, and continued to work from there.

The chorus sounds a bit Japanese-theme-songy to me, hence the title (Namba is a neighbourhood in Osaka). The quarter note cymbals in the drums is something I don't often do with LSDJ, but quite like now that I've tried it.

This is so awesome.  I would like to sign up for your "How To Be Godlike At LSDJ" seminar.  I'd also like to sign up at the Platinum level, that includes the brunch.

Very nice work, though I do wonder what the piano material sounded like.

Love those tempo layers.

Is anyone else going to the brunch?

If the brunch is even half as tasty as this sweet beat, we're in for a treat!

Oh wowowow I'm humbled. If any of y'all are ever in the Netherlands though let me know, we could hang out and talk music. Including lunch wink

I don't think I even remember now, but it was some melodic minor arp progression. Very different from this track.

Tempo layers?

Percusion and melody lines seem to be moving at different speeds and meters.
