Week 8 - Training with Cecil

By Anon_Buster on February 27, 2022 10:33 pm

This track started off with me just wanting a simple booty banging kick. I usually start with the kick and snare, then add in other percussion. I did that here, threw in a chunky-butt bass and tried out the Super 8 synth from Native Instruments. This reminds me of old 8-bit cut screens where you have lines of dialogue where some old dude in knockoff Starter jacket is training you on game mechanics. Mixing, I did minimal aside from low passing the second lead instrument when it joins with the first lead instrument. Minor cuts, because we need to keep that bass thicc -------------- On another note, I was violently sick at the end of the week, missed work and sat in bed feeling nauseous for an entire nite. I thought I just went too hard at the gym without hydrating properly and then ate a big post-workout meal while my metabolism was low. That wasn't it. I was actually sick for the first time in five years. So, that happened. This is what came out of the post-sickness fever that ended my week.

Sorry to hear you got sick this week!  That sucks, how you're feeling better though.  Digging this track man, lots of fun sounds in here.  Quite voluptuous bass and kick!

Hope you're feeling better. I really dig the drum beat for this track, and love the bass sound.

I hope you feel better! Nausea is terrible, it really prevents one from doing anything.

I get an old school platform game vibe from this track!

Fun track.  The bass is especially groovy.  Hope you feel better!
