Week 5

By Anon_Buster on February 6, 2022 7:22 pm

While on a staycation this week, I worked on a couple of tracks. Because I'm unhappy with my melodies and how they are all just improvisations in the same 12 note span, I copied the opening track from Cyber Shadow. I learned a lot about how that song works, but never figured out how to make the track sound so full or the sounds so intense. Because I want to use what I learned to make an opening track similar to that one, I finished another track from this week to use as my submission. This upload reminds me a lot of some awful Hallmark/Lifetime movie your mother/grandmother watched back in the mid 2000s. I'm sorry, y'all.

I forgot to select the portion of song I wanted to export and got 20 seconds of silence at the end. Whoops. Life goes on.

Very cool man, lots of really cool stuff on this track.  The violin sounds really nice over the eastern kind of sound.  Also, the 20 seconds of silence you chose to add at the end is a brilliant way to have the listener reflect on what they just heard.

I like your approach to teaching yourself new concepts. I think this is a cool step, even if it sounds hallmark-ish to your own ears. Did you like Cyber Shadow? I've heard good things.

However this song was developed, it sounds supernatural and is touching me, because it is so gentle.

For some reason this track sounds celtic to me. I like it, it sounds different and has a cinematic quality.

Love the piano in this.  The first few notes and just the overall tonal quality of the piano gave me some peaceful Minecraft vibes.  Really cool!  Also Cyber Shadow reminding me of fun times (many deaths) with Ninja Gaiden.

Very nice vibe, feels somewhat East-Asian
The extra half minute of silence at the end will always be a controversial decision tho

Hallmark? No way, this track is very evocative of a movie far better than that. I listened to it more than once!
