We Got Time (Instrumental)

With all of the free time, I'm hitting a creativity hump where I'm frustrated with the results of my work. I know I've progressed, but I don't think I accept the progress. There are so many ideas I have, and so many areas where they fall short of where my main goal lies. Without sinking into old habits, I took this week to enjoy playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Somehow, in a fantasy game with symphonic instrumentation, they managed to make symphonic-techno music that's kicks pretty big booty cheeks. This track is a work I started in May. I plan to add vocals at a later time, just not this week. The opening plays two notes, which are where the character in the song will be speaking for an introduction. Then there is a melody line that comes later, alongside the upbeat section with the claps.

I can definitely empathize with the lockdown creativity hump thing.  Its nice to have the free time, but I think we need the stimulation of life to get that creative energy though.  Nice track this week.  The chiptune mixed with the luscious synth pads is really working for me.  Cant wait to hear vocals on this.

Love how this track manages to feel relaxed and driving at the same time. I think you did an awesome job.

By the way, which house did you pick?

Interesting mix of sounds here, I really enjoyed it!

You can always go into a different direction. You'll find the normal routine wasn't so bad after all.

I feel ya with the creativity hump.  I think some weeks are just going to feel stagnant in terms of creativity and inspiration.  Going in a diff direction or just pushing thru is what I try.  I like the use of themes in this track.  Maybe it's cuz of the main synth but I could hear future vocals coming from a vocoder.  Excellent chord progression too!

There is quite a lot of stuff happening there, many melodies and sounds. It has indeed a nintendo game vibe along but this is not chiptune either.

I didn't think it was too bad, but I was staffing for an essential business. Just leaving the house made a big difference in my outlook. Now, I'm in a 1,200sq/ft home for days without leaving. With the chip/synth sounds, I'm trying to use basic tones (chippy sounding) and synth ones together, since I usually hear modern synths or all "chip" sounding synth sounds. That, and I want to add guitar and vocals (if I can bring myself to sing haha)

Thanks. The track isn't gain staged well, as it's still in the drafting phase, but I'm glad how it's turned out.
Golden Deer. I liked how Claude felt like a human from our time and less like a "it's my birthright" type of guy. Apparently, Lysithea and Leonie are monsters, so I used their skills to full effect. Now, onto Ashen Wolves DLC before siding with Edelgard. Only...100 more hours to finish the DLC and my second run. No biggie.

Thanks. I get stuck heading down a path and not realizing when I'm walking through a tunnel. When I realize what's happening, I tend to make a Forza Horizon U-turn to get back on track, and crash into everybody else.

Pushing through has gotten harder when my inner child gets fed up with constant struggle. Luckily, I've taken about a week off from hours at the desk and feel a little better to attack it again. A friend had to tell me to take a break from music in order to recharge, and it helped.

Thanks. I like when I can make something that's a little unusual. The basic sounds mixed with some more modern ones helps me fill in an atmosphere more without being locked into any specific genre. Plus, I have so many soft synths, I need to use them. Chiptunes can be made with all free plugins.

This really does feel like a nice fusion between modern synth and retro chiptune music. Good stuff, mate
