On the Cliffs of Aeralan

By Anon_Buster on January 9, 2022 8:18 pm

A track I had been working on the past several months. I came to it after finally getting into Zelda: Breath of the Wild (I never got into the first two years I had it). The music and adventure of the game helped me relax over a vacation week last year and I wanted to recreate the experience I felt with this track.

Great to see you again this year!
Great track here! The piano and the celtic like violin! This is top quality. Inspiring and cinematic, it would definitely fit into a zelda like game, with a sense of adventure, youthful discovery. The mix is really good, this is a really impressive track.

I'm looking forward to more tracks!

Gorgeous intro. Loving how you set the mood, very adventurous! Then onto the piano, arp and all else emphasizing this is indeed an adventure you're taking us along for. Well done!

Hell yeah dude, sounds awesome.  Very stereo-spatially rich mix and great arrangement.

Breath of the Wild is really special once you find your groove with it. Such a wonderful world to explore at your own pace. Your track really brought back a lot of fond memories but feels very much like its own thing, too. Really great work.

indeed captures the feel of the game – and wouldn't have been out of place in it. beautiful game, but I only made it to Vah Ruta myself

Wow, that's absolutely amazing
I'm not feeling BotW, but I am definitely feeling a better game with much more life (it's the strings, BotW is much more sparse in that regard, feeling more desolate by design)

Thank you for checking out it out! I kept coming back to this track but never really knew what to do with it. To get out a beat for the new year, I decided to finish it off. I'm glad I did.

I appreciate that. This song took me on an adventure with making me learn how to make the violin not sound so stiff and programmed.

Thanks! I only made it to the first Diving Beast when I played it the first time. Two years later, I found the music so enjoyable I would just listen to the wind and light plinks of the piano while I walked through a grassy area or overlooked a valley from atop a cliff. The non-game aspect of the game is what kept me playing.

Your comments are area always analytical and concise. Thank you for spepcifying. Before I added the cello and bass, people told me it sounded unfinished and sparse. It's nice to hear from others here to get an idea of how to percieve what I've written as I develop my skills.

I enjoy the same gaming style as you. Starting in vanilla WoW back in the day, I was just walking around Dun Morogh ejoying the sights and sounds for many days before starting to play the game as intended.

Yeah this definitely has the feel of an epic journey through a magical world.  Great to see you back!

Good to see you back!  Def getting those epic adventure feels ala Link and his past smile  Love the deep bassy sound of that cello.  The violin gives me visuals of horse back riding through fields too.  Well done!
