Since I've been working 6 days a week and have little to do work-wise, I made a track learning how to use a the Arturia Jup8 V. There was a lot of time automating volume to place instruments up front or move them back, as I had issues with that last week. I like how this turned out, but only learned how much more I don't know, like why my bass loses low end and filters to only high end with low volume randomly.

I'm really digging that lead. Not sure about the mystery of the bass without knowing what you're doing, but I hope you fix it.
This hauls! Cool tune. Great intro!
I really enjoyed this. Love the way it builds at the start to the main melody, which has a really nice sense of momentum to it. Lots of interesting variation, too. Awesome work.
Thanks. This track was going to hit the garbage can, but I forced myself to finish it, and rework it multiple times.

I spent more time on crafting the melody and and making lead tones that felt intense without being piercing.
The phenomenon with the bass: I played around and noticed even with 1 oscillator, the frequencies are moving around. Playing a sine wave, I see the frequencies roll from 12k back to 6k. They slowly drop 3-5db before the frequencies build up at 12k and roll back again. I notice the bass seemed to do the same but, at one point, something more extreme, where it seemed to lose all low frequencies for 2 seconds before the frequencies re-surged in the low end. I only noticed the low end drop out completely once during the song.
And that just sorta happens?

It looks like I didn't have the Fine Tuning set the same, so something was oscillating(?) the frequencies by that 0.01 tuning difference. Interesting.

Thanks! I've been learning a lot thanks to having less than 50 employees to manage and absolutely nothing to do at work, except tell people to stand 3 feet from my desk and to not pull down their masks when they talk.
Big beefy synth sounds! Loving those punctuated percussion bass hits. Bass is tricky and your bass is tight. Worse if too much low end wrecks the mix. Anyway, I struggle with similar bass mysteries. But this track sounds great. Big full sound and strong melodic leads. Faved
