Gate of Detrius

By Anon_Buster on November 8, 2020 10:28 pm

Spent two days working on a track from a few months ago. It's making progress, but I needed something I could finish, so I made this today. Sometimes these tracks, when I'm out of time and have to make something, turn out to be my favorite. This track is no different. It's simple, easy, and uses what I've been learning about rhythm and harmonization of parts.

The story for this track is based off of a character I'm using for chip tracks, Solomen, or Sol Omen. It's simple: The threshold to Detrius lies ahead. Gates rusted open in invitation to those brave enough to enter. A roar erupts all around like the sound of a thousand horns blaring or the rending open of earth. Those beyond have provided forewarning for what lies ahead. Will you enter?

The opening distortion was cool and the main track definitely gives off an exploring video game dungeons kind of vibe.  Nice one.

That distorted bit at the start is really, really cool. I like the way you're able to weave it back into the  track, too; I didn't think that would be easy but it's a good fit here.

The intro is coool. Evil! This kinda reminded me of the soundtrack of the movie Arrival, with its atonal sounds.

The chiptune is fun, the percussion is nice

Fuckin sick

I read this as "Gate of Devieus" at first big_smile Very cool intro and a very cool track!

Sweet dude, some super ballsy sounds in here.  I love that super low aggressive ping ponging synth.

Excellent distorted synth line.  The bass sounds nice and thick as well.  Cool backstory too.  Nice work!
