This week's track is another song designed with a vgm soundtrack in mind. I wanted something that was more upbeat and energetic. I struggle to find energy outside of choruses where I throw in a mash of sounds. I think this worked better. Knowing what sounds to make for a song is becoming easier, and is making mixing easier, as the sounds compliment each other's sounds well without muddying the frequency range. Also, I learned that having less sounds let me push this track harder and louder when it came to compressing and limiting this track.

This is pretty bad ass! Punchy as all hell. You definitely hit the higher energy level!

Really love the main melody of this track. It's totally going to be stuck in my head all day. Also love the way you're starting with the image of a soundtrack recently; seems to be bringing out a lot of interesting structural ideas while keeping the tracks really tight and concise.

Thanks! I spent so much time reworking it and only have 4 distinct sections. Every time I learn something, I spent hours on little parts but have less product, but the tools I'm gaining are worth it.

Melodies are something I'm trying to pay attention to even more. I find my initial drafts are always repetitive or use weird intervals. I'm glad this one was catchy. The idea of having a purpose for the tracks, that being for soundtracks, helped me focus what I needed to do. My projects were getting too long without purpose. Now, I can focus more on what needs to exist in the track, and what is unnecessary. It's like being a C.S. Lewis or a Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time series) in the fantasy world of writing.

You're crushing it. You're never going to be perfect, because no one is. I'd say you've reached  good enough a bit back.

Love the bassline progression the instant it's introduced.  Really cool synth lines and awesome beat buildup into the main chorus.  Had my head bobbin the whole way!
