Less compression used on this track than normal. It's definitely quieter, but all attempts to make it and the drums louder resulted in crackling distortion. I tried to make the instruments more unique, have their own space and stand out. I can't remember how it turned out, since I did this a few days ago and have worked on a few other things since then.

I think you got good separation of the instruments.  I could definitely hear a lot of different textures.  I liked the part around :30 where the bass kind of came to the forefront.  And then when the other instruments returned it was impactful.

Love the choice of sounds in this track. Really enjoyed it!

Do you use a limiter? And have you tried using saturation? Even when used a little bit, it can make things sound louder by increasing the harmonics but actually tames the transients and reduces the db level.

Cool track smile

Thanks. I was hoping to have some sparsity in this track, as opposed to overloading it with sounds like I normally do. The quiet of that section was nice to create.

Thanks. I spent a little more time on the sounds and finding ways to spread them out instead of bunching them atop each other.

I use a limiter on the drums before using a group or master limiter. I started using Supercharger GT from Native Instruments on my latest track, and it let me have the feel of +3db without the volume increase . It appears Supercharger GT is a saturation tool haha. Thanks for the recommendation. Do you have saturation plugins you prefer?

I use FabFilter's Saturn plug-in but there's so many good free ones too. Not familiar with Supercharger GT, I'll check that out!

I like the beat you got there and there is space in the mix. The bass builds a good ground for the rest and there are very nice synth lines happening. Nice chiptune-y track!

Excellent sound selection and the bass and melodies are really catchy in this track.  Well done!

The mix is very good though. Really like that arp, too; how it just blends with itself.

Love those sparkly sounds that spin out the melody. And that bass is super punchy! For what it's worth the mix is loud and strong in my headphones.  Does not need to be any hotter.

Damn man, this one is really cool.  I love that weird delay tail on the main lead sound.
