cracktro (MOD)

EDIT v3: I JUST REALIZED MILKY EXPORTED THIS IN THE WRONG KEY. Damn lol. here's a mono mix of the right key. UGH.

VERY simple 4 channel mod with a lil background cracktro feel. I've been working on Amiga emulation and a bunch of other stuff lately so I whipped this little funky-weird key groove up in the past 10-30 minutes with MilkyTracker. Never again am I going to cut it so short because this shit is scary. Still getting used to how panning is handled in .MOD with two to the left and two to the right - maybe I should've just bounced down to mono? EDIT: Mono mix here!

I made my own DX sample pack for this (except drums which are from ST-01) which I'll be sharing very shortly, but I have to adjust a lot of stuff like the sample size for each hit and the relative note (doh!)

greetz to akira and xyce for support and inspiration!

dat panning!
for those not on headphones and don't normally listen to MOD (like me!):
L: drums, "piano" chords
R: bass, lead
sounds coolllll

thanks ! it's not up to my decision though. It all gets panned that way according to the hardware.

What's weirder is that the four channels are LRRL, but not LLRR as I'd imagine they would be. That kept FUCCCKIN ME UPPPPP

But did you choose which instrument/channel went which way?  And can you change which way the channel pans at any time during the mod?
Educate me

Oh sweet jesus yes you should have bounced to mono! big_smile

A good one otherwise

Nope. Channel 1234 is LRRL, no changes

lol THIS is more the reaction i was expecting

There was one french guy who did game music for Dune and KGB and some more games that paired up channels and alternated each sample trigger between the two to get a less shitty stereo picture.

But honestly everyone just flicked that mono switch

Hahaha yeah, just edited the OP with a mono mix! ^_^

listened to both mixes; def prefer the mono version. this is fucking tight, tho. jammin all night

Pretty Groovy!! Mono mix is really good too!

Damn lol. I just realized that MilkyTracker exported this in THE WRONG KEY. Edited the OP with a mono mix of the right one (ugh sorry)

You'll want to skip using Milky for MODs as they are basically a pain to properly export to a MOD that would work on the Amiga properly.
Nice funky tune! Looking forward to see what you make with Protracker.

So funkeh!

Groovy and deliciously panny!

U DID IT

i'd also like to take your DX7 samplepack for a spin once you release it into the wild!  keep me posted.

i wish i could just turn my head 90 degrees and have it panned front and back. definitely more of a fan of the mono track on this one. but awesome song none the less.

This is so chill, bro!

A little crazy on the headphones, but the mono mix is dope! Very catchy tune

groovy bass line, had me tappin away to this smile  well done!

What am I not hearing that makes you think you should have bounced to mono? What a kickass track.

smoothness - very slick!

You said it! Tracks like this deserve new spellings of words...very tight!

Yeah man!  If you want a playout from an Amiga send the MOD over ;-)
