Body Drawings Score (IN STEREO)

By an0va on September 6, 2014 10:52 pm

This week I worked on a score for a short educational video about the body. Here's the track before I process it into 50's quality and add in the voiceovers.  The direction was "50s future jazz big band," so I went for an old MGM studio approach. The style was very difficult to emulate - I love jazz, but everything modal and beyond - aka the stuff that's more far out. I'm completely self-taught just by reading books and stuff, so music that is more rigid like this was a challenge for me. I hope this is passable at least. If the changes seem funky and you notice the goofy SFX, don't worry - they just sync to the video. ^_^

Man, I'm also trying to learn beyond my limited techno/hip hop skills but... If all those almost perfect Esquivel-like Hollywood score came from a guy with no formal training... Man, I'm really amazed. You nailed it.

You are my master know. One reason not to give up on studing harmony and arrangement. Much respect, indeed

speechless! ....can't say it any better than laguna. Much much respect. Hats off!

Captured that era perfectly. Well done. Very well done.

Wow, this is exactly what you were going for. I can hear the announcer voice over it already.
Fantastic work.

Outstanding evocation of the era!  Everything is exactly right.  Well done!
