Week 2: 1 min Loop after tutorials

By AMD24 on January 11, 2024 6:16 pm

Hello! I am Andy. I'm using this project to act as a diary / deadline-creator to help me force myself to be more creative again this year, and I sorely missed writing music so thought I'd give that a crack.

Each week I'll be setting myself a small, manageable goal to slowly build confidence and knowledge, beginning with use of Nanoloop before maybe moving to other software / instruments and focusing on actual compositional knowledge.

All CC would be very much appreciated!

My second step was to digest some tutorials to get to know the software a bit better. This definitely felt useful, huge thank you to Youtube channels Doc Pop and Gesceap for opening my eyes and giving me a fair share of "aha!" moments

Made a little plodding dark ambient thing. Next few weeks will likely continue to be more in "experiment loops" over actual 'songs' but I'm feeling more proud of this one than the thing I uploaded last week

Great first steps. I wish your motivation doesn't fade!

makes sense to me. I am also working some tutorials and trying to improve my skills. I think what you have here is a great track, looking forward to hearing more

I like your deliberate approach to improvement, and this loop is a great start
