Quiet Place

I tried a new way of processing vocals this week. I used the Ableton "melody to MIDI" feature, then fed that into the Ableton auto-shift plugins. Easy enough to "snap to scale" at that point. I was going for more natural tuning at first, but then it got away from me, haha. I also need to make like a little box with some spare foam panels for my mic so it has a "standard setup" in a fixed spot. I end up recording different parts at different levels, and It's a pain to mix.
I think this is also the WB premier of my Nord Drum 3P. I really like this unit. I had a lot of fun building the drum track up on the hapax this week, and I think the drum track is my favorite part.
The bass synth is the Cascadia doing its bass synth thing, as is the Iridium Core.
I tried to give this one it a more polished mix overall - and also ran it through my new outboard gear. Learned a few cool tips about plugins that help visualizer the stereo field and doing a mono check at the end to make sure the mix hasn't gotten off the rails.
This song was inspired by the (rough) quote from the show Dexter: the truth speaks from a quiet place.
