I was playing around with trying to make one phrase of 8 chains, and see how much I could randomize it with variability. I think I did an ok job with the drums on that, but then I was adding random notes for the instruments, I found some randomizations that I really liked the rhythm of, and used those. I do that a lot and then it usually leaves me nowhere to go, haha, so there's 3 distinct phrases for the synths, varied by pitch across the chains.

I gotta say I love this chiptune vibe. The phrases are busy but interplay nicely. The drums are minimal but fit the groove.

Thanks! I tried to dance around the edge of busyness with the random notes generated, but think it worked out well enough. The drums were on the other end; basic and repeating. I probably could have gotten away without the tom fills, which kind of draw attention to the receptiveness.
