Cults of Symmetry III and IV

By alonemusic on December 23, 2022 12:05 am

Welcome to the second act of Cults of Symmetry. As promised!

You can catch up on the previous week here: https://weeklybeats.com/alonemusic/music/cults-of-symmetry-i-and-ii

When we last joined our heroes, everything was going pretty well. This track has two rough parts:

III. Eternity is Easy
IV. The Starlight That Rests Inside Our Bones

Track wise, this has one of my favourite things I've done in months in towards the end. It was also the point where everything was a little "oh shit, you've gone over 9 minutes!" when writing the piece, aka, the point where this became the longest track I've written. Making sure it worked as a seperate piece too.. almost too much. anyway, please enjoy heart

Oh and me? I'm in Tokyo! We decided to escape all of christmas and such by leaving the UK for 3 weeks. The jetlag was killer, but we are just about functional and out exploring. Hope you have/had a wonderful break if you get one .

what else is there to say but this is fucking epic
even in the opera, this could be a little story inside the story

Beautiful wall of synths to get it moving at the beginning, shoegazer-ish bliss, flying and soaring.

Your style is really cool, it's an excellent merger of chiptune with post-rock atmosphere. Really love the deep bass and pads around the 1:50 section. Oh man that section at 3:20 onwards too is excellent. Ii sort of takes on a really subdued kind of synthwave vibe. Enjoy your stay in Tokyo! Pretty nice way to cap off the year, an album release and going out of the country for a vacation smile
