A Place in the Right Heart

This weeks track.. is a bit of a mess.. that said, I've got a good reason! I did most of it on a train (well.. 2 trains) to London and back. I don't usually write music with really specific concepts in mind, but here I tried to capture a Real Feeling(tm) that I've not had before, or at least a tidal wave of various feelings.
I was heading to London to be part of the People's Vote March. For non-UK peeps (and those that might not have seen) 100,000-ish people marched in London to demand a vote on the terms of the UK's Brexit deal. Essentially give us a chance to stop this thing that I for one, do not think is good for us, Europe, or the world really. But also a chance to, if we do really want to leave the EU, do so on terms that are not dictated by our (shambles of a) government.
This was a weird experience. I've done marches before, but never on this scale. I've felt one of many, I've felt one of few. You feel elated to be joined by so many others, you feel saddened by the immensity of the task ahead, you feel overwhelmed, you feel drained. I kinda hope I captured a bit of that, even if its not the most accomplished of pieces I've done this year.
Peace out!
Art!

yeah man, the feeling is certainly transfered! i get purposefullness, a feeling that something is bigger than yourself, hope, elation, but also tentativeness, that that big thing might crush you. and that blurring of memories when you experience so much in so little time.

great track. Glad to read that you're standing up for something you believe in! make the world a better place! go for it!

This one really goes for it! A race against imminent lockdown! Such grandeur~

When that crowd started cheering, that's when I knew you totally should add more cheering crowds, but only cheers, it doesn't need to end up a soundscape.

Sounds really cool. Did you adjust your mix for doppler effect? A must have when composing on a speeding train. I like the intensity of the track! Great drums, bass line and horn sounds. Really big!

Sorry, not totally up on the UK march. You may have notice that my country (United States) has totally shit the bed. When not threatening our allies (Canada?!) we are putting small children in cages. Good luck with the whole Brexit debacle. I'm sure Trump tried to withdraw us from the EU until he was notified we're not a member. smile
