Up to the Dance

This track came out by surprise. Partly because it's quite different from what I've been doing last month or previously, which is more moody, experimental ambient with a melodic touch. It does, however, continue the direction in had in the first two weeks with combining Wavestate, Geoshred Sax and electric guitar.

I had been working on a slightly different track, still with the same instrumentation but somehow I was feeling stuck with it. So two days ago at 10pm I said "whatever" and jumped on a completely empty template. Browsing through the patches I made for the Wavestate a found a groovy acoustic bass one and it was instant inspiration. I added an organ like short chord motive and some piano then layered the first guitar and sax melodies. It's funny that I barely know anything about this type of sound as I don't listen much to this type of music so I played intuitively and it was great fun!

The next day I added drums with an actual midi drum controller (so they might not be great, but working on that) and another sax melody then today I redid the clean guitar parts. Nice little short tune that shows how good is to break your boundaries and just go on a different direction when you feel stuck.

Wow, so good! Love the sax and vibes!

I dig it, it's got some sweet 60's jazzy psychedelia vibes.

This is really cool. Nice and mellow. Perfect for late-evening listening.

Sounds like an organic jazzy jam in a club. The sax sounds very realistic. Good job!

My only piece of feedback would be that the drums are too dry (e.g. too little reverb) compared to the rest of the instruments, and the rhythm doesn't swing with the rest. If you still have the stems for this track, try a few other takes.

Nice instruments and I like this bass part! It's a great easy feeling song smile

I love the experimentation in this track.  Great job!

This feels criminally good
