Swinging Machine

When you say modular synthesis people think either of "blip blops", "minimal-electronic" or, why not, "endless generative ambient". But can it do jazz? It can certainly try to. Using the wonderful sequencing capabilities of two Mutable Instrument Marbles in VCV Rack I triggered piano, trumpets, string plucks and drums from the free Spitfire Labs collection and some bass acoustic guitar from Sienna VST.

I thought it sounded like generative stuff, and I guess I was right. I think it kind of sounds like The Warheads (https://soundcloud.com/jrs-1-1). It was nice relaxing listening, I wish it could have been a little louder - maybe some compression would help with that. smile
